I started my holidays off with the long weekend...Carolyn, my homey from the Examiner days, came for a visit.
Next day we headed downtown for the festivities....there was this awesome band ... a dude rockin it with a mullet. Well this rocker had some fans..."Blind Mike", as Jenn called him was dancin it up with some other guy. They should use this photo on the website for the City of Barrie...that'll bring in the tourists. :)
Got to watch the fireworks from Ryan and Bobbie's boat...fantastic...Robynne and Gordo were there too. Well, as you all know, at the end of fireworks all the people on the boats toot their horns. Ryan was searching crazilly for his...finally he found it...everyone had finished...the momment had arrived .... bring it on ryan...toot that horn.........whaaa whaaa...it was the weakest horn i had ever heard!!! I had tears from laughing so hard. He couldn't even cover it up from the other good horns being louder...nope. Poor Ryan.
I got a manicure and pedicure one day....visited Jenn at her work. I got the massage chair for my pedicure....sweet!!!
The rest of my first week i was downtown checkin out artworks displayed down there, saw some movies, had the odd drink with the odd friend...alcoholic and non:) Went to Wonderland with Jennifer....then on the weekend i went to Stratford with mom to see a play. On our way the next day we drove through alot of countryside and found some neat Menonite(sp???) buildings, etc. Went to the Elora Gorge Conservation Area and checked out some trails and then also checked out St. Jacobs. It was a great weekend.
My second week was a bit slower but just as nice, was outside alot relaxing...bummed alot of dinners off of mom and Nick. I found out one of my favourite artists had an exhibition at the AGO in Toronto...so wednesday i took the bus to the Tdot...it was fantastic...his name is Chuck Close if any of you are interested...love love love his stuff. Not too many people know about him. Did a little shopping at the Eaton Centre before i went home. The rest of the days i relaxed...did have plans, didn't pan out though cause i didn't feel well. But turned out for the better in the end cause mom and i went to Dock Lunch and Woodland beach....
So short story long....it was a really nice holiday...next year will be a big one with Nat...Italian men, Italian food, Italian art, Italian history...yep yep. Can't wait. But definately nice to take a couple of weeks to relax and do some fun stuff around here that i don't normally get to do. Only one thing i suppose i could've added onto my holiday which i just thought of now...the zoo. But that's okay...maybe i'll get to do it before the summer is over.
Hope everyone is having a super summer and relaxing lots!!! Does anyone actually read this anymore??? I think there might be like two of you... ha ha
